The US Currently has no way to send Astronauts into space. But in the next few years, this will all change. I predict there is room for ALL of the crew vehicles being considered.
1. Dream Chaser - Lifting body by Sierra Nevada based off of the HL20.
2. Dragon - SpaceX's ballistic capsule.
3. CST-100 Boeing's Capsule
4. Orion - Lockheed's Capsule.
It does give us hope in the next 5 years or so. And there are multiple destinations. Obvious, The ISS, but I believe Bigelow will have, at a minimum, a private space station, if not a hotel/resort. Then there will be other LEO missions, perhaps to launch/service satellites or do other research not associated with any station. And of course (I don't see this for the Lifting body) there are BEO missions, the most likely destination the moon,,,,,
